Good Morning Anytime

Usually, when Sophie wakes up, I say , "hello Sophie, good morning."  Well, lately Sophie has picked it up, but she almosts never says it to me or Randy the morning.  Instead, when I come home from work, or in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday, we hear, "Hello Mommy ( or Daddy), Good Morning!" in her cute little sing-song voice.

These are photos of Sophie and me in the pumpkins at Whole Foods yesterday.

The Spanish word for slippers is pantuflas.  Celeste used to call them tuflas when she was little.  Sophie came up with a new variation this weekend:  fuflas. 

Last night I was bathing her and she had a big handful of bubbles in her hands and was pretending/actually eating them.  When I asked her what she had, she said, "bubble cake!"

Chalk It Up! 10-10-09

We went to an ArtPace event on Houston Street this afternoon with our friends Lexa and Bakko Gulley. It was on Houston Street, downtown, with music, food, and beautiful chalk art. It was so much fun! This is Sophie people-watching.

We spent the afternoon picnicking at Guadalupe River State Park with Tela, Papa, and Celeste. As you can see in these photos, http://www.flickr.com/photos/wclonghorn/sets/72157622393219029/
it was hard to tear the little girl away from the water. Also, notice the progression in the photos from fully dressed, to off with the jeans, to...almost commando, Mamma!! It was a warm and a little muggy today, but the water was still pretty chilly. Miss No-Fear-Dude didn't mind a bit, though.
